Alot depends on how long ago your friend and this guy were going out – - if it was 2 years ago then go for it. But if you start going out with him 2 hours after they split THAT is bad.
You never told us why you wanted to take her bf sooooo…… why?
You should say whatever you would say if she wasn't your friend, because if she was your friend she wouldn't mind

Your the one who made him dump her or thats what it sounds like. You probably convinced him you liked him too or he would have never dumped her. Besides friends are more important then boys/girls you like.

Well first of all you need to figure out how you feel about him… You have to really be nice to your friend, even if she's a b**** to you, remember that she's been hurt. Just stick with the truth, its a lot less sticky than a lie, and you don't want to get yourself into a mess.
if you dont like him tell her you dont and that you'll never do anything to hurt her .

Chances are you're going to lose one of them because of this. Try to talk to whoever would be more understanding about how you feel. If you think they might forgive you, try to work from there.

I doubt he's in love with you. Otherwise he would've dumped her for you a LONG time ago.
Anyhow, you need to decide which is more important: this guy or your best friend. If you like this guy, do you like him enough to lose your best friend over? If not, get over the feelings and tell him no. If you date him, just know you may lose a good friend over it.
Tell her to stop acting childish. It's not your fault that this guy has feelings for you and dumped her and she shouldn't blame you for it. If anything she should be mad at him.
It's best to stay out of these situations. Unless you love this guy for real (and i don't mean some bullsh*t high school crap), i wouldn't risk my best friend over it.
